Leadership and Management for the Maintenance Supervisor - Designed for the maintenance supervisor or team leader, this program concentrates on management fundamentals in the often chaotic maintenance environment. We will discuss such items as: The Role of the Maintenance Supervisor, Management Basics, Working Under Pressure, Organizing the Maintenance Team, Emergency Procedures and SOP’s (standard operating procedures), Report Writing, Making Presentations, Contract and Purchase Order Management, Project Management, Employee Appraisals, Managing Upper Management, and Preparing for Your Future.
Fundamentals of a Mature Maintenance Organization- If your organization is contemplating changing your maintenance culture, this course will be beneficial. It develops the foundation from which a world-class organization can be built and presents the critical components of a well-designed, organized, and staffed maintenance organization. Key areas of this course are: Management Support, Organization, Maintenance Control Function, Supervision and Maintenance Engineering, PM and PdM (preventive and predictive maintenance) and, Management Control.
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling - The objective of this course is to raise the competence level of your Planners/Schedulers, Supervisors and Engineers in the area of planning and scheduling, material procurement, estimating and work measurement, small project management and communicative skills.
This has proven to be one of my most popular courses, with hundreds of students each year. It is a definite must for all maintenance organizations whether facility or manufacturing based.
Out-Sourcing and Out-Tasking Maintenance Responsibilities - This course presents the details of out-sourcing and out-tasking of the traditional plant engineering and maintenance function as well as other facility services. We will present and discuss the motivation for out-sourcing facility services. In addition, we will discuss the alternate contract structures available, and the advantages and disadvantages of each. Other key sections are: How to Structure, Implement, Manage, and Measure the performance of an out-sourced maintenance or facility services program, and Define the keys to a successful partnership. Time is also spent discussing the successes and failures of out-sourcing.
The Business Side of Maintenance Management - Designed to assist managers and/ or maintenance supervisors understand the business side of their jobs. We will provide the tools so they will understand what financial managers are looking for and how they make the every day decisions that can affect your maintenance department.
Maintenance Scorecards - We will bring to light the importance of tracking the activities and performance of your maintenance organization. During the course we discuss the business reasons for measuring what you manage, explain the prerequisites needed to get started in the scorecard business, and explore in detail the top ten maintenance scorecards used in industry today. In addition, methods for using these measurements along with the benefit to your facility and the maintenance organization will be discussed.
Shutdown Management and Planning - Processes and details necessary to properly plan, schedule and manage a major facility maintenance shutdown are presented in this program. Time is spent discovering how to determine the priorities of selected shutdown jobs as well as understanding the financial impact of long-term shutdowns.
Managing Maintenance on a Reduced Budget - Do you know what is needed to take place in a maintenance organization when business conditions become difficult and reductions in maintenance staff and expenditures are required? Learning how the immediate culture and priorities must change, and change rapidly, while still maintaining the facility and equipment will be crucial if your organization is facing or about to face these issues.

Maintenance Management for the Non-Maintenance Manager - This course is designed to develop a core level of maintenance knowledge in manufacturing managers at all levels. Most attending this class have little or no knowledge of maintenance basics and how the average maintenance organization should perform and support the manufacturing or facility structure, but will leave with a solid foundation of maintenance responsibilities.
